7 Easy Steps To Cleaning Up Your Garage

1. Plan
Create a floor plan and research storage systems for inspiration.

2. Clear out & divide
Remove everything from your garage and place in one of three areas: keep, donate/sell or throw out.

3. Clean
Sweep the floor, hose it down, get rid of cobwebs and remove oil stains.

4. Sort
Arrange your keep pile into sections, such as hardware and tools; sports and recreation; automotive; yard maintenance; winter property maintenance; and major equipment (lawn mower, snow blower).

5. Review & allocate
Take stock of your items to estimate the size of the workstation and the number of bins, shelves and hooks you'll need. Map out enough space to park your car and store large equipment.

6. Put the plan into action
Hang ladders, rakes, bicycles and other less used or awkwardly shaped items on the wall or ceiling to save more shelving space for your bins. Put smaller items in clear bins and store them in designated areas.

7. Maintain & enjoy
Label your bins, and check back on your layout periodically to keep the organization system up to date.

GTA REALTORS Release February 2025 Stats

Home buyers continued to benefit from substantial choice in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) resale market in February 2025. Home sales last month were down in comparison to the same period last year, while listing inventory remained high, providing substantial negotiating power for homebuyers. “Many households in the GTA are eager to purchase a home, but current mortgage rates make it difficult for the average household income to comfortably cover monthly payments on a typical property. Fortunately, we anticipate a decline in borrowing costs in the coming months, which should improve affordability,” said TRREB President Elechia Barry-Sproule. “On top of lingering affordability concerns, home buyers have arguably become less confident in the economy.
