Take a Small Step Toward Big Results in 2022

Many people who set goals for a new year, choose something big and exciting, such as running a marathon or starting a six-figure side-hustle. Those are admirable objectives, and there's a unique thrill in achieving them.  However, such awe-inspiring feats can overshadow the impact of setting and achieving a modest goal. That's unfortunate because a small step in the right direction can often lead to significant, even life-changing, results.  For example, if you want to lose weight in the new year, you could go big by committing to a strict (but healthy) diet and sweating it out at the gym five days a week.  There's nothing wrong with that!  But what if, instead, you decided to simply take a walk after dinner each day? According to the online health site, WebMD, a brisk 30-minute walk will burn approximately 140 calories. Assuming your diet remains the same, that will result in a predicted weight loss of 15 pounds over the year.  The best part of a goal like walking a half-h

Budget-Friendly Ways To Add Festive Touches To Your Home

These simple hacks will bring the glories of the festive season into your home — without compromising your wallet. Mix real with faux elements - decorate with nature, with a combination of real and faux. Invest in a faux greenery garland that can be placed on the fireplace mantle or table and updated season after season. Weave in real elements (think gourds or pinecones) or mood-setting ones (like candles or lanterns) when the seasons change. If you have to refresh some of the fresh elements halfway through the season, it's not as expensive if you've got a faux base.  Layer what you have -  There's no need to invest in different coloured or patterned cushions every season—just layer in any extra pillows and throws you already have to add an array of textures. You'll get that cozy feel without re-inventing your design style every year. Only decorate the three main rooms -  You don't need to outfit every room with Christmas décor. Not only is that expensive, but you

Helpful Tips That Will Make Your Laundry Room More Efficient

Laundry day doesn't have to be a chore with these simple steps to an efficient space. Double duty - to make this space work harder, use it as a utility room to store household essentials such as toilet paper and paper towels. Remove items from packaging, then place them in baskets. The uniform look is tidier, and it makes everything more accessible. Hang on - walls are often underutilized when it comes to storage, but they're a great place to stash cleaning supplies when floor space is at a premium. Thread twine or a leather lace through the hole on a broom's or mop's handle, then tie the loop securely. Hang the loops on hooks that work with the room's style; here, rustic metal adds charm and patina. (Make sure all items are thoroughly cleaned before putting them back in their place!).  Out to dry - a spot for hanging clothes to dry is a must. Make the most of every inch and gain counter space without sacrificing floor or wall real estate by tucking a permanent or

GTA REALTORS® Release November 2021 Stats

Home sales reached a new record for the month of November and the average selling price also reached a new all-time high. New listings were down substantially compared to last year for all market segments – further highlighting the inherent supply issue across all home types in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). GTA REALTORS® reported 9,017 home sales through TRREB's MLS® System in November 2021 – 3.3 per cent above the November 2020 result, setting a new record. In contrast, new listings were down by 13.2 per cent year-over-year, with double-digit declines for low-rise home types, and condominium apartments. "Governments at all levels must take coordinated action to increase supply in the immediate term to begin addressing the supply challenges of today, and to work towards satisfying growing demand in the future. The GTA remains the primary destination for new immigrants, and is at the centre of the Canadian economy. For far too long governments have focused on short term banda
